Trapattoni was all smiles on his visit to Carrick-on-Shannon and Leitrim Village. A press conference was held in the offices of Leitrim County Council where is named the International squad and he then visited the Goal for Peace programme and the Community Soccer Programme in Leitrim Village where 10 school from Leitrim and Fermanagh were particpating. I will post more pics when I get a chance.

The beautiful Edwina Guckian – Leitrim Rose 2013 was in studio today for a quick photo. We can’t wait to see her on stage in The Heritage Hotel in Portlaoise for the Regional Rose Selection on June 2nd .

Studio Display Redesign!

I am currently redesigning my studio display space and hope to have it all finished by the end of next week. I will add updates as I go through it. I just had to share these fabulous hanging tealight holders that I just got from Vobe Interiors!

Glenn & Rhona – Sligo Wedding – Cromleach Lodge

A little rain in the morning cleared the way for a picture-perfect day. Rhona’s house was in great spirits when I arrived, with family coming and going and still everyone was so relaxed.Glenn had a care package delivered to Rhona that morning and it was the talk of the morning. So very sweet and a testament to how well he knows Rhona. (And yes that is an onion in the basket!!)

As the ladies got closer to leaving for the church the line for the day started “Suck it Up”, said to stop any happy tears from flowing.

Glenn and Rhona and their bridal party were a pleasure to spend the day with. Everyone was relaxed and easy going and it really shines through in the photos. We stopped at Lough Arrow for some photos before arriving at the beautiful Cromleach Lodge.

Thank you Glenn and Rhona for letting me document your beautiful wedding day.

5 Easy Tips to improve your photos for the holidays!

All the family will be around over the holidays and there will be lots of moments being captured.

Here are 5 easy tips to make your photos even better……..

Change your camera angle

The two camera angles are Landscape (on the long side) and portrait (on the short-side). People often take all of their photos in landscape. Don’t forget to change it up a little and just turn the camera on its side for some photos. Its only a little change and it can make such a difference.

Get closer

One of my favorite quotes is, “If your pictures aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.” Robert Capa. Don’t be afraid to get closer to your subject. Group photos don’t have to be full length. Get up close and personal, fill the frame and it makes for better photos.

Get to know your flash settings

I am not a fan of the on-camera flash at all. If I can get away with not using it at all I won’t. If you are trying to capture a candid moment, the large flash firing can distract people. With flashes beware of harsh shadows created and reflective surfaces. Most cameras have 3-4 different flash settings – Auto-flash, Red-eye, Flash-on, (sometimes called Fill-Flash) and Flash-off. If you are not sure, do a test shot first with No Flash. If it is not bright enough or it comes out blurry then change to Flash-on or Fill Flash.

If you are photographing a subject with a window behind them, you will need to use fill flash/flash on to create an even light.

Use a Timer

It is not everyday that you have lots of family around so take advantage and take loads of photos AND DON’T FORGET TO BE IN SOME PHOTOS TOO!!! This is where Timers are great. you can set up the shot and hit the button and then you have 10 seconds to get yourself into the photo. (It may take a try or two to start, with some funny results, it just adds to the festive season.

Use a Tripod

You can leave your camera on a solid level surface to take timer photos, and you can also use tripods. (Now I don’t mean a large tripod like you see at weddings for video and photos). Nowadays there is a tripod for all camera shapes and sizes, even smart phones.

Tripods come in all shapes and sizes.

All camera setting symbols are universal so these symbols will be the same on all cameras and phones. Please note – not all setting are available on all cameras, consult your manual for details specific to your device.
